Adding a New Year

To add infrastructure to this site for each new cohort, follow the following steps:

Add users as editors/administrators to WordPress site

  1. Add new users to this site with the proper permissions levels

Create cohort projects category

  1. Create new category called “startyear-endyear-projects”

Create cohort blog posts tag

  1. Create new tag called “startyear-endyear Cohort”

Create cohort home page

  1. Create new page titled “startyear-endyear Cohort”
  2. Add “PROJECTS”, “POSTS”, and “BIOS” headers to this page
  3. Fill in intern bios

Create cohort projects page

  1. Create new page titled “projects — startyear-endyear” and set the parent page to the cohort’s home page
  2. Add the IvyCat shortcode to the page to show all projects from the year
    (replace html escape codes with square brackets)

Set up links

  1. In cohort home page, link “PROJECTS” header to the new projects page, and link “POSTS” header to the new posts tag
  2. Add cohort home page as a menu link nested under “Cohorts” in the main menu
  3. Add cohort project page as a menu link nested under “Projects” in the main menu

Don’t forget to add the right categories and tags to all of your posts!
