Hi! My name is Sameerali Sajwani (he/him) and I am a Computer Science major currently doing comps. I am the Accessibility Intern for the 2024-2025 year. After taking my Human Computer Interactions class at Carleton, I became enthusiastic about learning how I can make applications and sites more accessible. When the DSI position opened, I saw it as an opportunity to apply what I had learned to a real-world situation. I look forward to learning more about accessibility in the tech world, gaining skills that pertain to project management (and more), and building strong connections with those around me in this team. I want to practice methods of accessibility and learn more about the ways in which websites can be more usable by a wider audience. I hope that as an accessibility intern, I will also be partaking in usability testing and software testing.
Something that I enjoy doing in my free time is going to the gym, playing games, and cooking new meals. In the summer, one of the dishes that I prepared that I was most proud of was my shrimp fried rice.
I never knew that LinkedIn Learning was covered under Carleton. Had I known this, I would have used this tool in the past to gain more certifications. Knowing this information now, I plan on using my remaining time at Carleton to get certifications.
