As this term wraps up, I’ve been thinking about how much I ended up enjoying the Leganto project. It was really meaningful to be part of something that felt useful for students on campus, especially something connected to how we access readings in our classes.
I really appreciated working with Ariel and Hannah. They created a space that felt both organized and collaborative, and I always felt like our ideas were heard. The weekly check-ins with them and Sam became something I genuinely looked forward to. It was nice to have consistent time to share progress, get feedback, and work through ideas together.
Getting to work directly with students during the usability tests was one of the most interesting parts for me. Watching how people interacted with the site in real time and where they got stuck made everything feel much more tangible. It was also rewarding to turn those experiences into something more concrete through the survey data and start to see patterns in how students experienced the tool.
I have also really continued to enjoy the Thursday reading and catch-up meetings with the full DSI team and mentors. I feel like our conversations have become more specific and more informed, especially around current topics like AI. I have noticed a real growth in both my knowledge and my comfort in those discussions, which has been really rewarding. Thank you to everyone who helped make this term so special.
Overall, this term made me realize how much I enjoy working on collaborative projects that have a clear purpose and impact on campus. Looking ahead to spring, I know it is a shorter term, but I would love to be part of something similar again and continue building on this experience.
Thank you,
Ava (:
